Packing tips

Lock Tight Storage wants you to have the best storage experience possible. In order to make the process a bit easier for you, we thought you might like to know some ins and outs about packing.

  1. Use solid, good quality boxes

  2. Clearly label your boxes so that they are easy to locate

  3. Pack heavier items in smaller boxes so that they are easier to handle

  4. Ensure goods and equipment are clean and dry before packing for storage (washing machines etc should be fully drained before storing)

  5. Try not to overfill your boxes as this may cause them to break and be harder to lift

  6. Ensure fragile items are wrapped in bubble wrap and the box is clearly marked as "Fragile" 

  7. Place heavy boxes at the bottom

  8. Do not store heavy items on top of soft furniture as this may cause damage over time

  9. Always use plastic covers for your soft furnishings

  10. Try to plan your storage space with the least used items at the back and the most used items at the front

  11. Make a list of all goods in storage as a reminder
